Training & Accreditation
Ciara has a BSc (Hons.) in Counselling and Psychotherapy from PCI College. She is an accredited member of the IACP and works within their ethical framework. Her background is in sexuality and social equality. She has an MA in Sexuality Studies, with a focus on intersectional feminism and LGBTQ issues, from DCU. As part of this degree, she completed research on sexual consent and communication, which she presented as part of the International Association for the Study of Sexuality, Culture and Society (IASSCS) conference in Dublin, 2015.
Approach
I believe in working collaboratively with clients with the aim of obtaining insight and understanding. I use an Integrative Humanistic approach which honours the client’s unique experiences and empowers them within the therapeutic space, while allowing us to work creatively and openly together.
Experience & Areas of Interest
I have experience working with a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, confidence and self-esteem, gender, and sexuality. I enjoy working with people’s individuality and strengths.
