Darren O’Loughlin is a fully accredited member of the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (IAHIP). Darren obtained a Master’s degree in Psychotherapy (with First Class Honours) from Dublin Business School in 2020. He also holds a Higher Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy (with First Class Honours) from Dublin Business School, a Master’s degree (M.Litt.) in Philosophy from University College Dublin and a B.A. (Hons) in Philosophy (with First Class Honours) from the Milltown Institute.
Approach
Darren’s approach is founded on humanistic and integrative psychotherapy. Using a range of techniques drawn from person-centred therapy, Gestalt therapy, existential psychotherapy and other modalities, Darren works in collaboration with individuals to explore with compassion their lives, their struggles and their goals.
Darren is focused on helping individuals to achieve better mental health through a therapeutic relationship based on empathy and understanding, with no judgement and no pressure. Each life story is unique and the psychological journey inwards can be profound in meaning and worth. Darren is committed to accompanying you as you undertake this journey at your own pace, providing compassion and support every step of the way.

Darren has worked with individuals on a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, loss of meaning, grief, loneliness and relationships.
Darren’s areas of interest include philosophy – particularly existential philosophy, phenomenology and ethics – as well as a number of different models of psychotherapy.
