Approach
‘Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.’ Jung
Everyone has the ability to heal and grow through meaningful therapy. I work in a humanistic way, providing a space for dialogue, inquiry and reflection, working together with individuals who search for understanding and who desire to move beyond their current situation. At the foundation of my work is the therapeutic relationship where the client feels safe, heard and free to express without judgement. Considering the individual’s particular goals and situation, I draw on a range of strategies to move towards the desired goals.
Experience & Areas of Interest
With almost 10 years’ experience I have worked with clients on a broad range of issues, including; trauma, abuse, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, anger issues, depression, eating disorders, self-harm, relationship difficulties, mental health issues and more.
I have experience of working with people with ASD and people with additional needs. I enjoy working with young people and have spent time working with young people in residential care. I have a special interest in working with LGBT+ clients and have worked in a designated LGBT+ service in the UK. I also have a particular interest in relationships and attachment and how our early attachment experiences can influence our present situation.
I have found, over the years, that a person may come to therapy due to a difficulty in a particular area and can find many other helpful insights through the course of therapy. Therapy, of course, is not only for those who are in crisis but can be a very positive experience for those who wish to enrich their lives and who feel they could live more fully.
